Japanese Traditional Art “NOH” Experience in Nishinomiya City
A lifetime of experiences in just one day!
Experience Traditional Japan
Welcome to Japan’s oldest traditional performing art: NOH.
Experience the rich cultural heritage of Japan at Nishinomiya NOH Theatre just outside of Osaka city.
NOH – its name derived from ‘no’, meaning “talent” or “skill”- is unlike Western narrative drama.
Rather than being actors or “representers” in the Western sense, NOH performers are simply storytellers who use their visual appearance and their movements to suggest the essence of their tale rather than to enact it.
Put on Tabi slippers, watch an introductory video about Noh history and culture, trying on Noh masks.
Get on stage and learn the “Suri-ashi” sliding-walk. Noh costume experience, and have a break with three varieties of sake, or Nishinomiya tea and sweets.
