Japan is a country of contrasts, just waiting to be discovered. Beautiful, ultra modern, historical, relaxing, busy, fashionable, traditional all describe Japan today. The ancient capital of Kyoto is rich in cultural sites while nearby Himeji Castle is a famous World Heritage Listed treasure. Hiroshima is a city of historical importance and next door lies Miyajima Island with its unique breath-taking scenery. The modern metropolis of Tokyo is alive with energy and excitement. Japan’s small land area means travelling times are short and all areas are easily accessible by a clean and efficient rail system. For the first time this flexible itinerary makes it possible for the independent traveler to experience all of these cities. By adding some of our optional tours you will experience real famous sites and real cultural delights of Japan.

DAY 1: TOKYO

Upon arrival at Narita Airport, clear customs and immigration then board the Airport Limousine coach transfer service to your accommodation in Tokyo. Coach transfer service can also be provided from Haneda Airport. Staying in Tokyo for 3 nights. 

Arrive into Tokyo and transfer into the city by Airport limousine bus. Accommodation in Tokyo for 3 nights .

DAY 2: TOKYO – NIKKO – TOKYO

Today you will head north of Tokyo to your first UNESCO World Heritage site, Nikko. Visit Tosho-gu, the mausoleum of first Shogun
of the Tokugawa era! You will also have the chance to visit the stunning Chuzenji and opportunity to go to a Japan Railway ticket offic e to exchange your voucher for your actual Japan Rail Pass .

DAY3: TOKYO

Entire day free to explore Tokyo or some suggested optional tours:
a) 1-day Mt Fuji & Hakone Tour
b) 1-day Tokyo Tour
c) 1-day Hidden Kamakura & Enoshima Bay Tour

DAY 4: TOKYO – HIMEJI – HIROSHIMA

This morning make your way to Shinagawa Station. Board the famous Shinkansen bullet train to Himeji. In Himeji you can visit the UNESCO listed Himeji Castle and Koko-en Gardens . Return to the station and continue onto Hiroshima by Shinkansen bullet t rain .
Accommodation in Hiroshima for 2 nights.

DAY 5: HIROSHIMA

Free day to explore Hiroshima . Points of interest here include Miyajima Island and the ltsukushima Shinto shrine, Hiroshima Atomic Bomb Dome (both UNESCO World Heritage sites) and the Peace Memorial Museum.

DAY 6: HIROSHIMA- KYOTO

This morning make your way to Hiroshima Station. Board the Shinkansen bullet train to Kyoto. Upon arrival in Kyoto and after hotel check in, free afternoon to explore the city. Accommodation in Kyoto for 2 nights.

DAY7: KYOTO

Enjoy a jam packed day tour that will take you to 4 major UNESCO listed sites! Start in Kyoto and visit Nijo Castle, the Imperial Palace and Kinkaku-ji. Then travel to Nara and see the incredible Todaiji and Kasuga Shrine. Your final stop is at Nara Deer Park and the Nara Nagomikan.

DAY 8: KYOTO – TOKYO

Free time until departure. Depart Kyoto Station by Shinkansen bullet train to Tokyo and change trains for the airport.
