This tour is tailored for those eager to delve into the art of crafting traditional and nutritious Japanese dishes. Our journey begins not just with cooking but also with a visit to a local supermarket. Japanese supermarkets are a treasure trove, offering an extensive range of meats, fish, vegetables, and an array of unique seasonings. I’m eager to share my insights on selecting the freshest ingredients, a skill honed through daily practice.
Once we’ve gathered our ingredients, we’ll transition to a professional kitchen studio to embark on our cooking session. Under guided instruction, you’ll master the techniques of Japanese home-style cooking, from wielding a Japanese knife with precision to preparing foundational elements like dashi for miso soup and crafting sushi rice seasoned with vinegar. Beyond sushi, you’ll delve into creating authentic dishes such as miso soup, eggplant dengaku, and the delightful dashimaki tamago (rolled egg).
Upon completing the cooking experience, participants will receive recipes, empowering you to host your own Japanese culinary soirée back home!
We eagerly anticipate the joy of cooking alongside each of you. Our Kitchen Studio is conveniently nestled in the Asakusa and Kappabashi shopping district, known for its plethora of restaurant supplies. After our culinary escapade and a hearty lunch, you’re invited to explore Asakusa, a renowned Tokyo landmark, for some sightseeing and shopping.
Whether you’re a novice or an aspiring chef, our class begins with foundational lessons, including how to properly hold a kitchen knife. Everyone is welcome! Let’s embark on this culinary adventure together and savor the joys of Japanese cooking!

Craft thick sushi rolls using a variety of ingredients & Enjoy a shared lunch together
a skill that's challenging to perfect without proper guidance— The highlight of the cooking tour is crafting sushi rolls. Participants place their prepared ingredients atop vinegared rice, encase them in nori seaweed, and then slice them into delectable pieces. The vibrant cross-section of the sushi roll, showcasing a medley of colorful ingredients, is truly captivating. Its allure is further heightened when presented on traditional Japanese plates. Once all dishes are ready, everyone gathers to enjoy a delightful lunch, beginning with the customary phrase, "Itadakimasu" (Appreciation for the food).
