Hi Olivia
Just letting you know that Michael and I had a wonderful trip to Japan. We can see why you fell in love with it. The people as you already know are the most polite, welcoming, gentle and clean people. Australians can learn a lot from them.
Thank you for your great organizing, everything went very smoothly. Unfortunately, we did miss out on our free day at the start of the holiday as there was a bit of a problem with the plane and it missed the curfew at Sydney Airport, so we ended up staying the night a hotel – but that was not your fault.
Thanks again
Lyn and Michael
Hi Lily,
Wanted to let you know what a fantastic trip we had to Japan. Everything worked well and we loved everything about the Country, the people, the food, the Cities, the Temples, gardens etc.
Our escort Eiji was very professional and helpful and our tour leaders outstanding.
We have told all our friends what a wonderful trip we enjoyed and already a couple of friends are making inquiries for next year. Their names are Mr. & Mrs. Huxtable.
Thank you for arranging such a wonderful trip.
Regards, John & Leone
Hello Clement,
Meredith and I are back safely, after having a wonderful time.
The weather was fantastic!
It was HOT in Tokyo, which we really relished and I finally got my voice back again.
We scooted around on the Subways and local trains in Tokyo. As you said, really simple.
The Hotel Pacific was great, Clement. A very spacious room, etc.
The Dai Ni was a more compact set up, but it was a fantastic location.
There was a kind of walk through passage as you got out from the station, so you didn’t need to go out to the street.
Found a lovely French style coffee shop, across the road, just past the Post office, so we gave them our patronage each morning, before we set out on our travels.
So, once again, thank you for all of your efforts that made our trip so wonderful, Clement.
I hope that you are keeping well.
Bye for now,
Maybelle
Dear Clement
We all had fantastic time. Japanese people are certainly very polite. My wife especially loved the food, shopping, landscape etc. For me, personally I really would have like to sit and have a drink with the locals. Really get to know them. But the language barrier prevented much opportunities, I think.
Overall it was a memorable trip and we all like to go back again.
Thanks so much with your advice and help. greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Hi Clement:
As our Japan holiday is coming to a close we wanted to let you know what a fabulous time we have had. We managed to find all the hotels, do most of the sights you suggested and even tried the food you recommended. We spent today in Nara and what a great time we had. We walked everywhere in a bright sunny day and really enjoyed the city. When we were at theTodaiji Temple it seemed every school in Japan was having a field trip there – they sure were noisy but otherwise very well behaved.
Our Alpine Route went very well and we were glad we had the night’s rest at Murodo before completing the trip. We did both the walks, the first day was lovely and sunny, the next grey and rainy but both were enjoyable.
Our hotel here in Kyoto is great – we are in the newer section and it is quite lovely. Also appreciate being so close to the station, and what a fabulous station it is.
Hope you enjoy your experience of the Alpine Way.

Hi Lily
Thought you should know that we have now been and come home. We had a great time in Japan and everything that you had booked was great.
Just wanted to let you know about the hotels if you have any other families looking to stay in 1 room.
New Miyako Hotel, Kyoto – Triple room was great the beds are nearly an Australian Double so plenty of room
Hakone Hotel – Triple room was big – 3rd bed was a sofa bed but other beds were nearly Australian Double beds as well, the location of this hotel is fantastic on Lake Ashi but the rooms are well used and could do with a refurbishment and a good clean but for 1 night and the fantastic views of Mt Fuji – well worth it.
Ghibli Museum – If we hadn’t been to Disneyland & Universal Studios in LA, we probably would have been very impressed with this, but we had and most of the information is in Japanese which makes it very hard to understand what it is all about. Although getting there & back was a real adventure!
Tokyo Morning Tour was very helpful in giving us a layout of tokyo and the guide was very helpful with directions and advise for the trains, etc.
Once again, thank you for all your help in organising our holiday to Japan, it has changed so much since I was there 20 years ago. Very easy to travel around yourself as just about everything is in English and everyone was very helpful if we needed directions.
Regards
Sharon
Hi Olivia
We’re back from our drive around Hokkaido. It was fabulous. A lovely and mostly rugged area to drive through.
The hotels you booked for us were great: In scenic locations with good facilities, helpful staff, good food and character.
The driving was easy, the GPS helpful even though the written instructions on screen were only in Japanese/Kanji.
The spoken instructions were in American. A quick lesson on pushing the right buttons when we picked up the car was enough for our basic needs.
Osaka was extremely and unusually hot for this time of year, mostly minimum of 27°C and maximum 35°C. Just took it a bit easier.
Want to return to Hokkaido… and other quieter islands also. We’ve visited Kyushu, Shikoku and Okinawa in the past and are now keen to take to the wheel there also.
Will return to JTB for our next bookings.
Thank You
Kitty
Hi Olivia,
I have been meaning to send you a quick email for 2 months!! At the moment I am watching a video of our trip and I would just like to say we had a great time in Japan – we really enjoyed everything about it. You planned a wonderful trip for us and everything went off without a hitch.
My favorite was Takayama, so I’m glad you included that!
So on behalf of David, John and I thanks once again.
Cheers
Michele
Dear Yoko,
Thank you for your help organizing our recent trip to Hokkaido. Jerry and I returned only a few days ago. We had a wonderful time! We were very pleased with all of the accommodations – but especially enjoyed the Shiretoko Grand because it gave us the opportunity to stay in a tatami room. While we were a little too early for the fall foliage, we saw beautiful scenery in the rural areas and also saw some wildlife (deer, bears, and cranes).
We appreciate the help – couldn’t have done it without you!

Dear Lily,
We had the most wonderful time in Tokyo and Kyoto. Thank you so much for your help in finding the right accomodation and guided tours. I am sure we will be back to explore more of this beautiful country.
We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Keio Plaza Hotel in Tokyo. Everything was just perfect from the room service to the room itself. We would definitely stay there again.
Both tours (Tokyo Morning Tour and Mt. Fuji/Hakone Day Tour) were fantastic and the lunch was delicious.
The rooms at New Miyako Hotel in Kyoto were quite old and the matresses very worn out, but the rooms were clean. We stayed in the old part of the hotel for one night, but kindly asked whether we could move to the South Wing which is the new part of the hotel. The staff was very friendly and gave us a great room in the South Wing. This room was great, everything was nice and comfortable.
I can recommend the Maiko Night Tour very much. Watching the Maiko dance was really amazing and the dinner was fantastic, too. Also, we were allowed to ask the Maiko questions which were translated to her.
The Kyoto and Nara Full Day Tour was very interesting (especially Nara).
And thank you so much for recommending us to go to Arashiyama to see the Bamboo Grove.
To sum it up, I think it was a great mix between going on guided tours and exploring the cities on our own.
Kind Regards,
Sabrina
