What a pleasure to travel by train

Monday, June 19th, 2017

What a pleasure to travel by train with plenty of legroom and ease of getting on and off. Having a tour guide and travelling in a small group ensured that any concerns or queries were promptly attended to. Spring temperatures were warm and pleasant. The amount of walking was not strenuous and the overall pace of the tour was relaxing.

Will recommend to any friends to come and see you

Dear Olivia,

I have been meaning to write to you for ages since we got back but one thing and another has delayed me…

Pat and I would like to say a huge thank you for our trip to Japan!  It was absolutely great and the itinerary you prepared worked wonderfully (thank you also for clarifying for us the extra night in Okayama so quickly).

The Keio Plaza Hotel in Tokyo was great, lovely staff and our room each time was fantastic.  It was a great way to start and end our trip, and we enjoyed being in Shinjuku (once we got used to the station – wow).  Kanazawa was charming and we loved the Kenruoken Garden (hope I’m not mixing it up with the other stunning one in Okayama).  We loved Takayama and really enjoyed the Green Hotel, our first onsen experience.  A real surprise was Okayama.  Considering we mainly went there for its proximity to Naoshima Island, we both found it a relevation.  Lovely sized city, with great castle and beautiful garden and we had some fab meals there.  I loved the Grand Via Hotel there – I could see the shinkansen terminal and tram terminus from our (large) room!  It was a great suggestion of yours to stay there and not on Naoshima (though I did enjoy visiting it and found a funky rockabilly diner there, recommended by one of my workmates – who knew?).

As for Miyajima Island, we LOVED it and the Kinukoya Hotel was superb.  The food was unbelievable there and again, the onsen experience was just fantastic.  We managed to fend off the deer, and could see the floating Tori gate from our room.  Awesome.  The Hiroshima Museum was sobering but fascinating, when we took our day trip there.

Osaka was fun and we ate some great food there and saw some of the best cherry (and plum) blossom of our trip near the Castle, which was also excellent.

We loved travelling by train, especially the mighty shinkansen, and we also loved the Kyoto Railway Museum.  I almost forgot: Kyoto was totally beautiful and a highlight was the Fox temple, the Philosopher’s Path (almost obscured by crowds :)) and of course, the number of local women wearing stunning kimonos.

We definitely want to go back at some stage, but again, thank you so much for such a wonderful introduction; we will most definitely recommend to any friends thinking of going to come and see you.

Very best wishes,

Alison and Pat

Hi Sue.

Apologies for the delay in getting back to you.  It is Mary-Ellen and It was my job to contact you about our trip.

I didn’t think that John would give enough superlatives.

Yes.  We had an amazing time.  You did an outstanding job on giving us an itinerary that met all our requests.

The timing from us was co-incidental but it was brilliant.  The blossoms were magnificent. We hit peak blossom in Tokyo.  And scored the fantastic Spring Festival in Takayama.

The hotels were a fabulous mix of luxury and interest from the old Kananaya Hotel in Nikko to the awesome Benesse House.  The hotels in Hakone, Takayama and Kurashiki are all worthy of special mention.  Did not wish to leave Gora Hanougi.

You put us in excellent locations, close to the points of our interest.  Kurashiki was delightful and allowed us to visit the fabulous garden in Okayama.  It was a lovely wind down as well.

We ate in a wide range of places from street food to high end at Hakone – that was fabulous.

We saw magnificent gardens, palaces, shrines of all size.  We visited art galleries and museums and we walked and walked and walked.

You did an amazing tour for us.  We loved the trains and the sometimes comical interactions to ascertain platforms and times.  We missed a couple of connections but our longest wait was an hour.  That is Japan.  Absolutely fell in love with Japan.  The cleanliness, the order and the courtesy.  The Japanese must think we are gorillas by comparison.

So to finish.  Many many thanks.  We highly recommend the itinerary you put together for us and will are guaranteed to ask you to plan our next trip.  (Not for a couple of years though!)

Very best wishes

Mary-Ellen and John

No hesitation in recommending JTB

Friday, May 19th, 2017

Good morning Kate.  We’ve returned from our visit to Japan and would like to pass on our thanks to you and the Sunrise tour people for such a great tour.  The staff were very friendly and professional.  We were met at every bus/train change and the trip was totally stress free.  The guides were very knowledgeable and provided interesting information.

I’d have no hesitation in recommending JTB and Sunrise tours to friends and family should they be travelling to Japan at sometime.

Kind regards Maggie and John.

Help us again next year!

You made our holiday so easy and smooth

Dear Minji,

Thank you for arranging our trip to Japan.  We had a wonderful time and all your hard work was well worth it as all the accommodation was just terrific and the way you had organized the trains was excellent.  It all fell into place beautifully and we had a very easy time on the trains which we just loved, especially the shinkansen.  We enjoyed all the places we went and were lucky enough to see cherry blossoms almost everywhere.  It was very beautiful and we loved Japan.

Thank you for making our holiday so easy and smooth.

Warm regards,

Harold and Sheryl

So well done JTB on your professionalism and wonderful staff.

Couldn’t have asked for better service

Thursday, May 11th, 2017

Good morning,

I just wanted to let you know that Michael has been helping me over the past couple of months with a Rail Pass booking, that went a little pear shaped when Australia Post didn’t get the tickets to the clients in time (from me, nothing to do with JTB).

Michael helped me arrange a last minute booking for 2 new passes & for the client to pick the tickets up in your Sydney office prior to departure.

Once I got the original Passes back, Michael has arranged the refund really promptly.

Michael, has been so excellent to deal with. Completely understanding, and very efficient with all of his communications.

I could not have asked for better service; he is a credit to JTB & I look forward to making more bookings with Michael & JTB.

Have a great afternoon – Nadia

I love it

I was blown away

Thursday, May 4th, 2017

Dear Minji

Thank you so much for all of your help with our trip to Japan.

We had a wonderful time – the Hotel gave us our printed tickets to Disney Land as we checked in.

The Hotels were great and the Shinagawa Prince was fantastic I can not believe all the bad reviews I read on it – please keep recommending it as it was a great location and no complaints re the Hotel at all.  I really wanted to stay in the hotel I stayed in 15 years ago but I could not remember the suburb or the hotel name, as soon as we came out of the train station I saw our old hotel I was blown away.

My sister wants to go to Japan so I will be in touch with you again next year.

Thank you once again Minji.

Best Regards

Judy

Prompt, punctual, polite and patient!

Thursday, May 4th, 2017

Hello Fiona,

Myself and 14 other women recently returned from a holiday in Japan which was organised by Jayes Travel Newcastle.

From day one, when we arrived at Tokyo Airport, we were taken care of, by one of your representatives who works for JTB in Japan.

Ms Sumiko Fukami accompanied us all the way on our journey and I would just like to complement her on the wonderful job she did.

It would be appreciated if you could kindly pass on these remarks to her supervisor in Tokyo.

As an employee, I am sure that you like to hear feedback, whether good or bad, from your clients.

Every day, Sumiko was prompt, punctual, polite and patient. Her organisational skills are something that we should all admire.

There was always a smile on her face and she took such pride in what she organised every day.

Her knowledge of Japan was exceptional and she supplied our group with maps, pictures and advice relating to every place we went to visit.

She had a good rapport with all the drivers and often would have a little giggle with them, in Japanese of course!

Nothing was a bother for her to solve or investigate for our group.

In the future, if anyone has the opportunity of having Sumiko as their guide in Japan, they will be truly blessed.

Kind regards

Helen

Wonderful trip!

Thursday, May 4th, 2017

Hi Olivia

Julia and I came back last Saturday and it was a wonderful trip. JTB were great to travel with, so well organised and the hotels were all good.

Travelling in twin-bed rooms meant we always had a largish room.

Our guide Maya was excellent: enthusiastic, just enough commentary and always anticipating the group’s needs, and always in a good mood. We realised we would not have seen half the things we did if we were not on a tour… we would still be looking for the right train platform somewhere.

Fiona from your Marketing area in Melbourne was also excellent and good company.

So thank you for your help in getting us on this tour. I will certainly be recommending JTB to friends and will come back to you when I visit Japan again.

Best regards

Jackie
